Living Comfortably
Who knew that energy efficiency and heating and cooling units could be so exciting?
At the recent International Builders Show I was thrilled to get a chance to talk to some of the major heat and air manufacturers and was amazed with how many great advances have taken place in this field. The Home Idea Factory has a functioning 1956 Carrier unit in it so it's been awhile since I've looked at what's new, but I'm glad I did. Now I'm thinking it might be time to make some changes.
Climate Controlled. Such a simple phrase that makes so much sense. It isn't about the fact that the heat or air conditioning is on in your home, it's all about controlling your homes climate so you can be comfortable, but still be as energy efficient as possible.
I'm so glad I spent some time with the Lennox team, especially since they have units that can be used with solar power in the future, even if you aren't ready to make that investment at this time.
And the new thermostats can make sure that your home is the perfcet tempature, even when you are away from home. I also learned that there are now ways that you can "zone" the heating and cooling in your home even when you only have one unit.
I'm going to be calling my local HVAC guy and coming up with a plan on how to make my home a lot more comfortable - can't wait to share with all of you what I find out.
